The exterior of the van Nelle Fabriek is very characteristic. By making an incision across all floors in the heart of the building, allowing daylight to flow in, it was possible to add workplaces to the created atriums as well. This atmosphere invites informal use and visible activity in the originally most lively part of the terrain. The disappeared roller shutters along the loading platforms have been replaced by large glass doors and reinforce this effect. To complete the original image, the frosted-glass canopy above the loading platforms has been restored.
