The nineteenth-century monumental school on the Hortusplantsoen in Amsterdam has been redeveloped for the Reinwardt Academy of museology. The addition of a clear and open heart in the form of a transparent "Core" creates a place for meeting and spatial disclosure of the ensemble. By using technology as much as possible based on the principles of the nineteenth century monument, Marx and Steketee architects worked with the approach of DuMo: Sustainable Monument Care.
