The Poldertoren, an old water tower, has been given a new life and houses new public functions that connect the tower culturally with Emmeloord. Because of its (cultural) historical value, this re-use has taken place within the preserved appearance. The structure of the Poldertoren with carillon on the top floor and viewpoint has been maintained unchanged. The compactness and limitations in terms of small footprint were a challenge. Nevertheless, the interventions made are modest and respect the original character.
