Reports on Dutch and Russian Architecture in German Building Journals in the 1920/1930's.

There is no doubt that the Netherlands and Russia were regarded as countries that broke new ground in architecture and urban development during the Weimar Republic. It is therefore not surprising that German building magazines reported extensively on both countries, sometimes also in direct comparison. The planned lecture will present this reporting and will not only include the publication organs that were open to modern architecture, but also those that were particularly critical of developments in both countries. Which specific buildings were reported on? Which photos accompanied the articles? In the German journals, the focus is primarily on the transferability to the own situation in Germany. But the external view may also help to analyse the internal conditions in the Netherlands and Russia and how they were understood abroad - and thus giving new perspectives on both countries.
